It would be great to being able to attach metadata that could be made available through the API, webhooks, and exports. The metadata could help improve views and reports (e.g. enabling filtering with custom props mapped to device IDs)

Released React Views with various customizations. Metadata on device info card is now available. Trip markers coming up. Marking this meta issue complete due to React Views.

Metadata for devices is available through API and GraphQL endpoints.

Pending:

Displaying device metadata in device info card
Displaying trip markers (formerly called custom events) in location history view with associated metadata. (Trip markers with metadata are created in the SDK)

FYI, metadata is now available in the Live API. Additionally, embed_url and public_url for live views are returned too.

Working on getting custom_events data in history views and device metadata in live views

SDK provides for custom events to be injected in the data stream along with meta-data. We are working on adding this to the history view on dashboard.
SDK provides for metadata to be added to device info. We are working on adding this to the device card/info on dashboard.
